Accounts disconnect because the authorization tokens social networks issue expire or get revoked: password changes, permission updates, platform API changes, security reviews, or long inactivity. It is normal platform behavior, not a tool failure. The fix is reconnecting, and the real skill is catching it fast.
Every scheduling platform's most common support question is some version of this one, and the honest answer starts with how connections work. Tools never store a client's password; they hold an authorization token the network issues, and networks expire or revoke those tokens by design.
Password changes and two-factor resets revoke existing tokens immediately, and a client changing their Instagram password rarely thinks to mention it. Platform-side API changes force reauthorization waves, Meta is famous for these. Security systems revoke tokens after suspicious-login flags or long dormancy. Page and account role changes, a client removing the admin who originally connected, silently break the chain. And tokens simply age out on some networks, requiring periodic refresh regardless of behavior.
One brand notices a disconnection within a day. An agency with two hundred connected accounts across a roster is running actuarial odds: something is always near expiry, and a disconnected account means silently unpublished posts for a paying client. The operational answer is detection speed plus a reconnection habit, not the impossible goal of zero disconnections.
When a post fails to publish, Cloud Campaign always raises an in-app alert, and workspaces with notifications enabled also get email or Slack alerts, so a broken connection surfaces immediately rather than at month-end. Failed posts carry a one-click retry link, so once the account is reconnected, recovery is a click instead of a rebuild. That failure-visibility loop is the difference between a five-minute fix and a client asking why nothing posted last week.
Ask clients to flag password changes during onboarding, reconnect promptly on the first warning, and fold a connection check into client onboarding so roles and admin access are set up to survive staff turnover on the client side.
