Twitter's Policy Updates and What it Means for Cloud Campaign

Twitter recently announced some fairly large changes to their policy regarding autonomous tweeting and the use of scheduling apps.If you're using a scheduling app that doesn't follow these updated guidelines, your accounts are at risk of being suspended. Luckily, if you use Cloud Campaign for managing your Twitter and other social media accounts, your accounts are safe with the recent updates we made to follow the new guidelines.

Why Twitter Imposed the New Rules

Ultimately, Twitter introduced two new rules.

  1. You cannot tweet the same content to multiple accounts
  2. You cannot repost the same tweet more than once

These new rules were put in place to subdue bot networks that abused the platform and made it less enjoyable for everyone.Prior to these new rules, individuals could tweet the same content or hashtag to 100s of accounts to cause topics to "trend".

What does this mean for Cloud Campaign

When publishing or scheduling a tweet, you can now only choose one Twitter account.

With Cloud Campaign you can still recycle content on Twitter by adding multiple captions. Each time your content is posted on social media, it will be published with a new caption.
